Lush - Honey I Washed The Kids Soap Review

A while back when I made an UK Lush purchase online they had sent me a couple of samples to try.  One of them was the Honey I Washed the Kids Soap.  I've actually tired this soap in the past and loved it.  So I was excited to be able to use this soap again.  The soap was only a small piece but that doesn't matter.  It's always nice to get something for free.

This sample has been sitting in my bathroom for a while and after I opened the wrap I've noticed the soap had dried up a bit.  But after my first use the soap got looks like it's back normal again.  So don't be afraid when you lush soaps looked a bit dried up.  Sorry, I didn't take a after picture of the soap.

Lush Description:
Honey I Washed the Kids is one of our best-selling soaps because it’s simply irresistible. People who fully intended to walk past a LUSH shop find themselves unable to resist its sweet caramel fragrance. You’ll inhale, drool, pick up a big chunk and immediately want to wash yourself all over with it. It’s so gentle, buttery and scrumptious you’ll have a hard time keeping it to yourself. The honey water and aloe are so softening and moisturizing, you can use our toffee-scented sensation on the whole family.

I love the smell of this soap.  It's has a sweet honey caramel scent to it.  It lathers up pretty well and I find it very moisturizing and it leaves a very clean feeling after using it.  And you guys all probably know this already...these specialty soaps they don't last long.  So to keep it from shrinking that fast, after use you should put it in a soap dish where it can dry up quickly and not soak in water to melt.

Online (US site) it's $7.95 per 3.5oz.  I'm not sure why but I believe the prices at the stores cost a lot more.  I was at the store just two days ago and I think I remember it being close to $9.  I dunno...maybe I'm seeing things.  You guys correct me if I'm wrong.

So how you guys all like this soaps?  And how you guys like Lush?  Let me know!!

Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale

Made a trip to the mall this afternoon for this semi-annual sale.  My main purpose is to pick up more of these antibacterial hand soaps.  They were on sale for $3 each.  With my last purchase I've done an online survey and was able to get $10 off when I spend $30 or more.  So I ended up paying $20 for 10 bottles.  What  deal huh?

I got mostly foam soaps.  Reason why...because I have young kids and the foam soaps are the easiest ones for them to use.

The scents I got are:
1) Tropical Passionfruit.  I liked the scent so I got two versions of it.
2) Fresh Picked Strawberries.
3) Vanilla Berry Sorbet.  Again, two different versions.
4) Fresh Picked Tangerines.
5) I Love Watermelon - With Cherry
6) Sugar Lemon Fizz
7) Candy Cane Bliss
8) Jingle Bellini Shower Gel (I got this because it was in such a pretty bottle and smelled great)

Anyone else went shopping and taken advantage of this sale?  Let me know what you guys gotten.

Bath and Body Works Christmas Gifts Haul

It was hard shopping for my niece. She's 9 years old and has everything. When we asked what she wanted she couldn't even answer us. Kids now a days are so lucky and has everything.

Well I ended buying her a bunch of crafts items since she's so artistic. She loves to find things and transform them into other things. Like a brown box into a doll house.

I still thought I needed to get her more. So I brought her a little extra from Bath and Body works. Please note this was purchased before Christmas, before the semi-annual sale.

Well hope she likes the items I got her. I got her a bunch of Pocketbac which I know she uses and a antibacterial foaming moose which I thought was cute and fun to use. The whole purchase was $11.16. The Pocketbacs were buy 5 for $5. The foam moose was $5. The holder was $.50.

I forgot to mention. I had a coupon for a free item for a purchase of $10 or more. So I got a bottle of body lotion (coconut breeze). I was happy. A $12.50 free. A little present for myself.

I know Christmas has past but we are giving her the gifts later tonight. Hope she like them.

Sephora - Tokidoki 0.33 oz Eau de Toilette Rollerball

I purchase this little Tokidoki perfume when they had the VIP sale going on.The discount was an additional 20% on everything you've purchased. I hadnothing I needed or wanted. Before I left the store I remembered that Sephorais planning to stop their Tokidoki line and their items were discounted. Mysisters wanted to get their makeup brushes but it was all sold out. So we gotthese little Toilette Rollerball perfume instead. They cost $10 originally and arenow on sale for $6 at the stores ($7 online) and of course I used my 20%coupon. Haha, didn't save much since it so cheap to begin with but money ismoney.

These rollerball perfumes come in a pretty silver box.

Notes:
Black Berry, Strawberry, Juicy Orange, Tiare Flower, Water Lotus, Creamy Vanilla, Cashmere Woods.

Both my sister and I picked the Adieu's fragrance.  I guess it's because we both like more of a fruity smell compared to a floral.

It smells very nice. And everything is very cute. The only problem I havewith this is the fragrance isn't that long lasting. I find that I had toreapply throughout the day. But I guess that's what you get for something thatcost under $6.

If anyone is interested in the Tokidoki products before they are all soldout go check out the Sephora website. They still have a couple of items left.

So anyone purchased and used the Tokidoki items? How you guys like them? Letme know!

Lush Rocketeer Bath bomb

I've made an online purchase through Lush over the summer and I haven't really used any of my items until now. One of the items I've gotten was the Lush Rocketeer bath bomb.

Lush site (US) description:

For an out-of-this-world bathing expedition, pop a Rocketeer Bath Bomb in the tub. The blue rocket pack shoots around your tub, leaving a wake of froth, fizz and the sweet scent of candy sticks. Watch the water change from blue to yellow to green as the yellow "flames" push the rocket around the tub. We made this one to entice our little ones into the tub for an exciting adventure, but it turns out (as usual) we like using it ourselves too!

I've seen so many reviews on this item and videos on YouTube so I was excited to try to get my hands on it. It's supposed to fizz around in your bath tub like a rocket and turns your tub into yellow, green, blue-ish colors.

When I received my package (from the UK, because items selling there are much cheaper compared to items sold in the US) the Rocketeer was cracked and crumbed into tiny pieces. I was upset because it seems like that's the only item in the box that wasn't wrapped correctly. And another strange thing was the package was cut open already so some of the bath bomb was sliding around the box. Since this bath bomb is broken it wouldn't have that rocket effect anymore. I informed Lush what had happen and they were nice enough to ship over a brand new one for me. I didn't have to pay for anything. They also didn't ask me to ship my broken item back either. I was very happy with their customer service. They really do want to keep their customers happy.

My Broken Rocketeer

My Brand New Rocketeer on the Right

So while I was waiting for my new Rocketeer to arrive I actually used some pieces of the bath bomb. Please see the YouTube video I've uploaded. It's nothing interesting. It did turned my water pretty blue and yellow. If you want to see what a Rocketeer do in the bath please check other YouTube videos online. There's so many of them already so I probably won't do one.

Anyone buy Lush products or tried their bath bombs? Let me know what you guys all think of them.

HadaLabo Gokujyun Moisturizing Cream from Sasa

I've purchased this HadaLabo Gokujyun Moisturizing Cream 50g item from the Asian Beauty website sasa.com. It cost me $17.50.

The cream came in a box which was wrapped in plastic. Everything is in Japanese so I can't tell you what's written on the box. Since this is such a popular brand/item I'm surprise they don't have multiple translations on it or maybe inside.

I like how the item provides you with a experation date.

Description from the sasa.com site:

Hadalabo is a newly mutually-developed brands operated by Rohto (Japan) and Mentholatum (USA), with the concept of 'Perfect & Simple’. They bring you a series of skincare products with the highest purity of ingredients under strict quality control.
HadaLabo GOKUJYUN Moisturizing Cream is infused with super hyaluronic acid which deeply penetrates into skin. It keeps on moisturizing and replenishing skin, meanwhile enhancing skin’s water-binding ability, leaving skin supple, smooth and radiant. The gel texture helps to further nourish skin. Weak acid, no fragrance, no colorant, no oil and is alcohol-free.

how to use it
After cleansing and toning, apply an appropriate amount on the entire face.

Japan

all skin type

The weather has been getting cold and with the heat on at home my skin is on the dry side.  So I thought this would be a good time to test out this cream since HadaLabo claims their super hyaluronic acid helps nourish and restore skin's barrier to prevent moisture lost.  It should also helps soften the skin and keeps it smooth and hydrated.

I've used this cream a couple of days now and I like how this cream is very light and non-greasy.  I have combination skin and this cream does not make me break out.  It also gets absorbed into my skin very quickly.  This cream is also free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and color.

I would use this product after cleansing and toning.  I apply an appropriate amount on the entire face.  I've used it both as a day and night cream.

So far I like this product. It's hard for me to find products that don't break me out. It's also inexpensive.  So what's not to love about it right?  Anyone out there tried this product? How you guys like it? Let me know!

Sasa Haul

My order finally arrived. I made another Sasa purchase from the Asian beauty online store (sasa.com). I put in an order on October 12th and it arrived October 30th. So it took around three weeks which isn't bad....especially how we recently had major hurricane weather.

Again, my items came in a white box. Inside the box there are lots of packing peanuts and bubble wrap. I never have any complaints about their packaging. My items always arrives safe and un-damaged.

There is always an itemized receipt inside the box too. This way you can double check on which products you've order and how much.

So, let’s talk about the interesting part of my order...the products!! At first I was planning on making a purchase for my mom's items. But by the time I've checked out I have added two items for myself. I can't resist. I always want to try new items and these two items I've purchase my family and others online rave about so I've just got to try.

So for my mom, I brought her two Yanagiya Gray Hair Cover Foundation - Dark Brown Color. They were $22.10 each. I know it's kind of pricy but my mom just can't live without these. I will write a review on these items soon.

The items I got for myself is the HadaLabo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion (170ml) and the HadaLabo Gokujyun Moisturizing Cream (50g).  Again, I will write reviews on these two items at a later time.

And this time I was able to get a free sample.  I forgot if it's was a promotional item with a coupon code on their site or if it's something they just thrown in.  It's the Suisse Programme Cellular Aqua Night Cream (2ml).  And on the receipt it says "Free Gift"

Anyone made a sasa purchase lately?  What items you get?  Any recommendation on items I should try?  Let me know!

Lush's Oatifix and Brazened Honey Fresh Face Mask

I usually don't do fresh face mask. The last time I've tried using them was also another project from Lush. It was called Brazened Honey. I didn't have a good experience with this mask because I ended up breaking up after using it.

Brazened Honey Description from Lush - Brazened Honey was inspired by traditional Indian ayurvedic principles, which put emphasis on balance as the foundation to health. Helen combined fresh free-range eggs and honey to soften, with astringent lime oil, antiseptic rosemary and exfoliating ground almonds. Kaolin reaches deep down into pores to pull out dirt and impurities, leaving your skin noticeably brighter and fresher. Our deepest cleansing mask, Brazened Honey is the perfect way to revive sluggish or congested skin.

You would smooth the mask over your entire face. Leave it on for about ten minutes. Than wash off the mask with warm water and follow with your daily facial routine. Sorry I've purchased this mask months ago so I don't have any pictures. All I can say is that it's not suitable for my skin (I have combination skin type) and the smell wasn't really pleasant either. I would not rebuy.

My sister recently purchased the Oatifix fresh face mask. I was hesitated to try because of my last experience with a Lush fresh face mask but since she insisted I gave it a try.

The mask was extremely thick. It was very hard to apply. Am I supposed to add water to this? Not only was it thick it was also kind of clumpy so applying it was also very messy. I did not mind the smell of this particular mask. This mask did not make me break out. It was very moisturizing.

Oatifix Fresh Face Mask Description - Soothing banana mask for dry skin - Few things are more soothing than a big bowl of banana porridge, all sweet and squishy. Did you know the same is true for your skin? Sensitive, dry or irritated faces love Oatifix for its calming oats, softening mashed banana and ground almonds to slough away flaky skin. Keep in mind that dry skin doesn’t just occur in the winter! The sun can be equally harsh, as UV rays penetrate the dermis and heat can leave you feeling tight and dry. Treat your face to our most moisturizing mask all year round, and follow up with a spritz of Breath of Fresh Air toner for seriously soothed skin.

There wasn't much like or dislike about this product. So since it wasn't that impressive I don't think I'll be going out and purchase this item. I prefer the clay masks or facial sheet masks more.

So anyone out there tried this product or any of Lush's fresh masks? How you guys like them? Let me know!

Sephora Fresh Birthday Gift 2012

Before I left the mall today I made sure I made a quick visit to Sephora. It's my birthday and they had sent me a post card for me to pick up my free mini birthday gift. This year they are giving us the Fresh Mini Sugar Lip Treatment Duo.

They are soo cute! I've always wanted to try these lip sugar treatments. They usually range around $25 which seems a little pricey. So this is a perfect opportunity for me to try them and see if I really like them or not before I buy them.

This gift from Sephora I believe is the best one yet.

In the little box it comes with two different lip treatments.

1) Mini Sugar Lip Treatment SFP15

2) Mini Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF15

So it's one clear and one tinted. Both give a glossy appearance to the lips. They both go on very smoothly and are very moisturizing. They both also smell so sweet...like sugar candy. Even with the sweet scent they are flavorless. And with an extra bonus...it comes with SPF15 protection.

I really like the quality of the lip treatments and the packaging.  But is it really worth $22.50?  Hmmm...I need more time to think about it.  How does people out there like this product?

Another Bath and Body Works Haul

My Bath and Body Works package had finally arrived. It took around a week. So that wasn't that bad.

One opened I see the blue plaid design inside. I just love it! It makes this package look extra special. There was lots of brown paper to product the products. The invoice was inside and they also included two coupons.

There was a 20% off any online purchase, which expires 11/28/12, and a Free Body care item with any purchase of $10 or more, which expires on 10/28/12. Since I've made such a big purchase already I don't think I'll be using these coupons.

Once the brown paper is removed, this is what I see.

So the reason why I made this large purchase it's because of a promotion they were having. They were giving away a free 4oz Pumpkin Craving candle that comes in a small bag. Shipping was only $1 on orders over $25. I've missed out on the candle deal last time so I really wanted to make sure I get it this time. I don't know why...but I really wanted to get my FREE candle. LOL! This was a 4oz candle that cost $9.50. Candle description says, "A blend of fresh pumpkin, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla tells the tale of bring home the perfect pumpkin." This size can burn around 20-30 hours. It smells great! It also comes with this free cream bag. It cost $2. Now how would pay $2 for that? I couldn't even pay for it if it's a quarter. Doesn't matter I guess. It's free.

I ended up getting all Antibacterial hand soaps. I love their soaps.

Usually, they have sales 6 for $20. So that's around $3.33 each. All the soups I purchased were on sale for $2.27 each. What a deal huh? And I also love their summer scents. I'm glad I still have a chance to grab I few before they are all gone.

I got...

Mango Berry Sparkler the Deep Cleaning Hand Soap. This has small exfoliating beads in it.

Same scent but in a foam form.

I Love Watermelon! Cherry foam soap.

Tropical Sorbet Float foam soap.

I Love Watermelon! Basil foam soap.

Mango Berry Sparkler PocketBac. I know I said I have TONS of old ones lying around but since I had to purchase over $25 before I can get the $1 shipping I was forced to buy this one extra item. I don't mind though...because I do love this scent. Mangos are my favorite fruit too.

Lemon Sunshine Slush the deep cleansing soap.

Cool Summer Spash foam soap.

 Papaya Melon Scoop foam soap.

Tropical Sorbet deep cleansing soap.

The two different kinds of soaps I like the foam soaps the best.  So anyone out there made large Bath and Body Works purchases?  What scents or forms of soaps you guys like best?  Let me know!
