My Beauty Diary - Strawberry Yogurt Mask

Another week past and it's time to use a sheet mask again. I've been using a sheet mask every Sunday and so far it has been working out for me.

This Strawberry Yogurt Mask is from the My Beauty Diary line. It was purchase from the sasa website. The main reason for choosing this mask was because there was currently an extra 10% off on that particular product and I was also trying to test out other types of My Beauty Diary masks. A box comes with 10 sheets, each mask packaged separately.

Both the box and the packing was very cute. Strawberries everywhere. When I opened the package I could smell the strawberry scent. Oh my...I just love that smell. Sweet strawberries...kinda like the Strawberries Pocky sticks.
There's also a lot of essence in the package. The mask, like all of the My Beauty Diary Masks are very soft and thin. They fit perfectly and feels great against my skin. I used it for 30 minutes. Once I pulled off the mask, I noticed my face was very moisturized and my appearance had brighten up. I'm very happy with the results. I than rubbed the excess all over my neck, arms, and legs. Why waste it right? There was still so much essence left.

I would recommend this mask. And once I run out I will rebuy.

Homemade Ruffle Scarf - For Sale

I got into knitting again. I'm still very new at it and i'm trying to learn how to do more projects.

I fell in love with these netted yarns and made these ruffle scarfs. They are just beautiful. Once I learned how to make them I just couldn't stop. I made a total of four already. I need to go back to the stores and buy more yarn.

There were two different types of netted yarns used. I used 6 to 8 stitches in these four scarfs. So they all turned out differently. And each of these took me a little over two hours to make each.

I hoping I can start selling these beautiful scarfs. They will be $15 USD each which includes shipping (in the USA only). Please send me an email if anyone of you wish to purchase one or two or three :). There are different colors transitions through multiple shades or I can get them in different solid colors. Please let me know which you want and if you want scarfs long or short. I can make them for you.

These scarfs matches multiple fashion styles and wardrobe colors. They will look great with anything. And you can also use them to keep warm. So please help me out and buy some.

Dermal Cucumber Collagen Essence Mask

I brought a bunch of Dermal masks at a Hmart last week. Hmart is a supermarket that specializes in providing Asian foods. Some stores even sell small appliances and beauty products. So before I left the market I noticed on display that there's a deal on all their Dermal masks.  It's originally $0.99 and it is now for $0.80. I'm not sure how much they are usually online but I thought it was a pretty good deal and got some.

Sorry. I don't know why I can rotate the photos.

As you can see I got:
  • Charcoal
  • Red Ginseng
  • Bamboo
  • Q10
  • Pomegrante (2)
  • Apricot
  • Cucumber
  • Green Tea
  • Aloe
  • White

I wasn't planning to keep them all.  I gave these three to my mom.

And these three to my sister.

I tried my first Dermal mask last Sunday. I chose to use cucumber first since my face felt kind of dry I wanted something moisturizing and smoothing.

Close up of directions and ingredents
(it's in english unlike most of the masks I've tried)

Inside of the packet

This mask has lots of essence. It has no plastic lining. They probably left that lining out to cut cost and also there wasn't really a need for it since this mask is much thicker compared to other higher quality masks.

I find that this mask is wide. It fit my face but there was a small part of my forehead that wasn't covered. I like how this mask has eye flaps though. You can smell the cucumber sent. It was pretty noticeable scent but wasn't overwhelming. I did enjoy the scent. After I took off the mask I did notice that the mask was very moisturizing and in some ways it had brighten my complexion a little bit. There was one thing I really did not like though...This mask left a very thick sticky residue. I thought it might just take some time to just absorb but it took forever. I actually feel asleep waiting for the stickiness to go away. When I washed my face in the morning I feel there was still a layer of something lingering on my face.

So how to I feel about this mask?  It's ok but most likely would not be repurchasing them.  I wonder if it's just this particular mask that leaves this film or if they are all like that.  My mother who tried two of the masks also said she did not like it.  She could tell that it's a cheaper quality mask and it had given her a little irritation which made her face slightly red.

So how does everyone who feel about these Dermal sheet mask?
Dried sheet mask.  As you can see it's a wide sheet mask and there's eye flaps

My Beauty Diary - White Truffle

Again, this is another mask I've gotten from my little sister. It's funny how we have been trading masks with each other lately.

She purchased this from sasa.com but I don't know how much. I believe she got this mask when there was a BOGO deal going on.

Information taken from sasa.com:

Isn't this packaging cute? These masks are considered to be in their platinum edition masks. This means it's a higher quality mask compared to their regular line. The mask sheet should be thinner and softer.
This mask had no scent to it. And as I mentioned numerous times already I don't really have much experience with mask so I don't have much to compare them to. I did like this mask but not ask much as the other My Beauty Diary masks I've tried. I'm not sure why...maybe the lack of light fragrance while you relax with the mask? I really don't know. The mask did brighten my skin and it did moisturize like the others but not as much compared to the Royal Jelly masked I've tried.
So how does everyone out there feel about this mask?

Crocs Chameleons Adrina Flat

My family and I went outlet shopping and I got these jelly shoes at the Crocs store. How cute are these huh? These rubbery shoes are extremely comfortable. They are very lightweight and flexible too. And what's great about them is that they change color in the sun too.

There are two colors to choose from:
·  Oyster/raspberry changes to dahlia in the sun.
·  Celery/sea foam changes to sea blue in the sun.

I got the celery/sea color. Since there was a promo going on, buy two gets one free, my two sisters got them same shoe. And of course they picked the celery color too. It seems that the color change stands out more for the celery/sea color compared to the oyster/raspberry color.

My Beauty Diary Royal Jelly Sheet Mask Review

Finally, my first purchase of sheet masks arrived. The one I'm going to talk about today is the My Beauty Diary Royal Jelly masks. I purchased them from sasa.com. The current list price was $13.20 USD but I received a 10% discount so I ended up paying $11.90. The 10% promotion is still on if anyone is interested in purchasing them. The deal ends this coming August 14. The box was wrapped with thin plastic. I believe Royal Jelly is one of their newer type masks from that line. I guess the new sticker on the upper left hand side of the box also confirms it. :)

A box comes with 10 pieces of sheet masks.

This was taken from the sasa website:

description
My Beauty Diary Royal Jelly Mask is rich in Royal Jelly. Royal Jelly’s formula combines royal jelly, which can efficiently nourish your skin while, simultaneously, reducing fine lines and plump your skin. Subsequent to the use of this product, it can provide your skin with brightness and smoothness. At the same time, it can effectively lock the water particles, so that your skin can absorb the essence of the mask and moisturize your skin fully.

how to use it
After cleansing and toning, apply on face. Leave it on for 20-30 minutes and then take it off. Gently pat on face until the remaining essence is fully absorbed.

ingredients
Royal Jelly: efficiently nourish your skin while, simultaneously, reducing fine lines and plump your skin.

suitable for
all skin type

The mask has a very faint scent to it. It’s a sweet (honey) floral scent. I like the smell a lot. The scent is so light it doesn't overwhelm you like the last mask I've tried (http://beautyfornewbies.blogspot.com/2012/08/silk-whitia-aromatherapy-facial-mask.html). The mask was also packed with a lot of essence. And the quality of the mask holds it in so well that there's no dripping. Just love it!

The mask is folded. It's lined with a plastic. This plastic helps prevent the mask from bunching up and getting damaged.

So just separate the two pieces and place the cotton sheet mask on your face. The plastic which has lingering essences you rub it on your neck, chest, and maybe even arms. Why waste the good stuff right?
I left the mask on for 30 minutes. I gave my face a cooling effect. It also tingled a little. I'm not sure if it's because my face was very dry from being out in the sun all day yesterday. My skin felt super moisturized after I took my mask off. I also noticed that it had brighten up my face and made my skin smoother too. It did leave my face with a sticky film and it took a while before the stickiness went away. That's probably because of all that extra essence that's stuck onto my skin when I took off the mask. I don't mind it though...since it did go away after my skin completely absorbed it in.
Next day I my skin remain brighten and smooth. Now how great is that?
I do like this mask and I will buy again once I run out. Anyone out there had tried this mask? Please let me know how you guys like it or if there's any other recommendations you guys might have. Since I'm a newbie with these sheet masks I'm always looking for suggestions on what's good out there so I can try them out.

Silk Whitia - Aromatherapy Facial Mask (Chamomile)

I got another sheet mask from my little sister. The Silk Whitia Aromatherapy Chamomile Facial Mask. The Chamomile aroma is supposed to help release pressure and help with blood circulation. It should improve skin complexion and strengthens skin tissues with its enhanced moisture. It's comforts all allergic or problematic skin to reduce redness and swelling. The vitamin contained should rejuvenate dry and tired allergic skin making it a nourishing product that purifies skins.

My sister had purchased this mask from the sasa.com website. I believe she purchased it when there was a BOGO deal going on. And again, since this mask was given to me I do not know the cost. I tried searching for the price but I don't think these masks are even available on their website. Maybe they are not popular? I don't know....

Application Instructions are:
Place the Chamomile Re-energizing Mask onto Cleansed Skin and leave it on face for about 20 to 30 minutes, then remove and rinse face with water.  Use daily for best results.
b
Mask ingredients are:
SP M3, Vitamin E, Hydrolyzed Protein, Chamomile Extracted

This was my first Silk Whitia's masks. This mask comes in a large package. Unlike other masks...this mask was folded over once. There was a form padding that lies in between. When I opened the package...the first thing that hit me was the fragrance. The smell was just too overwhelming. I did not like the smell of it at all. And because of this I would not go and purchase this mask. Is the smell strong because it was an aromatherapy mask? Well hopefully that's the reason because I've actually purchased two other Silk Whitia mask from sasa.com and I don't want to be disappointed again. The mask contained lots of essence. There was so much that it dripped everywhere when I opened the package. When placed on my face the essence also continue to leak down all over my neck and body. It was not comfortable and what a mess! The mask was made out of a durable cloth material. It was thin enough to fit and shape comfortably on my face. I did not like how the mouth area of the mask was so small though. I felt like I was eating all the serum that was leaking in my mouth. So gross. =P When I took off the mask my face did feel much moisturized.
So what do I think overall? I DON'T like this mask. There was just too much dislikes....

1) Fragrance...
2) Size of month area...
3) Too messy to use...Leaked EVERYWHERE. Need to take a second shower after using this.
4) After use rinse face with water (I prefer masks where you can leave essence on to absorb in)
5) In directions it instructs us to use daily for best results (I don't have the $$$$ to be using masks every day or the time...)

And guess what?? My sister didn't like this mask either.
Anyone tried this Chamomile Mask? What are all of your likes and dislikes? Please let me know!

Nails strips...Nail stickers...

Recently I've been looking into nails stickers...or some might call them nails strips. I love all the different variety of colors, shapes, and designs they come in. And to my surprise they are extremely easy to put on and the wear are also very long lasting.

There are so many different brands out there now a day. I'm not sure which brand came up with the idea first. And do you think they sell some for your toes too? I've only tried one brand so far. I've tried the Sally Hansen Salon Effects. I've purchased them due to a clearance they were having. Please visit my other site www.stampingnails.com. I've written a post on them there (http://www.stampingnails.com/2012/07/31/sally-hansen-salon-effects-nail-stickers/).

When using these on your manicures...they would looks like it's been done by a professional. Love them...highly recommend. It's much easier than using nail stamps. No more nail polish mess...no more cleaning up...and no more using up your entire nail polish remover when cleaning up all the mistakes and nail plates and scrapers. There's no drying time so it's a great time saver.

UPDATE (8/7/12): The un-used nails strips did dry out. I was still able to use it though.  I made it stick by putting a base clear coat and placing the strips on while it's wet. I held it down for a few seconds and finished it off with a clear coat. It still works...but just takes more effort. Also to let you all know that the nails strips that were on clearance at Target have went down in price again. They are now each $2.81. And since it was such a good deal I picked up two more box of them. :)

eos – Evolution of Smooth lip balm

I’ve just learned about this lip gloss. I can’t believe I’ve been missing out on this for so long.  This lip balm is 95% organic and 100% natural. It’s also gluten-free, paraben and petrolatum free. There is vitamin E, shea butter, and jojoba oil in the balm. It’s all the good stuff that keeps your lips soft and smooth.

I’ve purchased this item at Target. This balm is pretty popular so I believe they can be found at any of your local drug stores, super markets, and stores like Wal-Mart. There are currently 6 flavors out there. They are Summer Fruit, Lemon Drop (with SPF15), Strawberry Sorbet, Honeysuckle Honeydew, Medicated Tangerine, and Sweet Mint. I’ve purchased the Strawberry Sorbet.

This balm smells great…Strawberries!! Not only does it seem great…it taste great too. Sweet! And I love how the moisture last for such a long time. There’s really no need to reapply. I only reapply after eat. EOS balms have no tint in it so it goes on clear. I love how the balm comes in a little egg. It’s just soo cute! How yummy is that!
