New York Shopping Haul

My kids had April vacation last week and my hubby also wanted to go to the NYC car show...so we headed down for two days for a mini vacation. We didn't do much shopping but I did purchase a couple of items.

First night we stop by the Mitsuwa Marketplace. We had dinner there since it was near our hotel.

Mitsuwa Marketplace is a Japanese supermarket chain in America, with locations in California, New Jersey, and Illinois. The corporate headquarters are in Torrance, California in Greater Los Angeles (taken from Wikipedia).

So after dinner ( food wasn't great ) we walked around the market and I purchased a few bags of chocolates to give as souvenirs. And two packages of Lululan face sheet masks. The chocolates were around $6 a bag. And the masks were around $7 a bag. Each bag contains 7 sheet masks.

I never tried or heard of these masks before. But of course I never really kept up with products that people are using or buying that often. When I got home I realized that I over paid for these item. And also reviews aren't that great. So I guess I have to try them out myself to see if I really like them or not. These mask would be my first Japanese sheet masks. So I am kind of excited.

The next day we had dinner in flushing Chinatown and afterwards we went to another market and I picked up two boxes of My Scheming sheet masks. I've tried this brand before and like them so I was excited to try these two new scents or types. Originally a box cost around $12 for 10 masks. It was on sale for $8.

Time to try some new things now so see you all later. And I'll let you know how these masks are worth the purchase or not.

My Scheming Camellia Japonica Hydrating Sheet Mask

Since I have so much old sheet mask to use up I decided to used this particular one from the My Scheming collection.  This sheet mask actually came from a mixed sheet mask box I've gotten from sasa.com.  It's actually one of the first sheet masks I've purchased from sasa.com too.(http://beautyfornewbies.blogspot.com/2012/07/my-first-purchase-from-sasacom.html)

I find that these My Scheming masks are very similar to the My Beauty Diary sheet masks.  I find that the quality are very similar.

This particular sheet mask, the Camellia Japonica Hydrating mask is very hydrating.  It's prefect for the cold dry New England weather that we've been having.  I had the mask on for around 30 minutes.  I believe these masks are gentle to leave it even longer if you want.  The quality of the mask is pretty strong so it won't rip when trying to adjust it on your face or unfolding from the package.  I have a pretty round wide face too and it fits perfectly too.  After the mask is in placed on your face, you can take the extra essence or serum in the package and place it everywhere were you need a little extra moisturizing.  I used them around my neck area, arms, and hands.

Sasa.com description:
My Scheming Camellia Japonica Hydrating Mask contains natural camellia extract to increase the moisturizing and soothing function. And, it also repairs skin. Hyaluronic acid, saccharide isomerate, and jojoba oil improve skin and prevent moisture loss. The mask comprehensively firms skin and leaves it watery and lustrous.

how to use it
  1. After cleansing, remove pearl paper and place the mask over your face. Press it lightly onto your face.
  1. Leave on for about 15 – 20 minutes before removing the mask.
  1. Pat and leave for essence absorption.

I will re-buy this sheet mask again.  It's a great quality mask in an affordable price.  I apologize I don't have the exact about that I've purchase this at but I'm sure you can find this information on sasa.com very easily.  The My Scheming products are also cheaper than the My Beauty Diary sheet masks.  So if you don't want to spend the extra buck or two for it I will certainly consider buying My Scheming sheet masks.

My first purchase from Sasa.com

What should I talk about first? Let's start with sasa.com. I'm sure everyone knows about this site. For any reason, if there's someone out there who don't...someone like me, who recently learned about this site...than let me tell you a little bit about it.

Sasa is a huge cosmetics retailing group in Asia. They have hundreds of store and a huge variety of Asian to European beauty products. They have things from skincare, makeup, and beauty health supplements. And if you don't live in places like Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia and Taiwan than the next best thing to purchase their items is from their website, Sasa.com.

So my little sister recently introduced me to sheet masks. And you guessed it...that's what I've purchased from sasa.com. I brought three boxes of them. I brought two boxes of My Beauty Dairy sheet masks and one from My Scheming. I will talk about these products in detail in later posts. So what's my experience with sasa.com? Well, I've gotten 10% off on my items. I know it doesn't sound like much but every little of saving helps right? Also they had a promo that any purchase over $29 USD would get free shipping. And how often do they have free shipping with such small purchases. I ordered my stuff on July 16th and the package came today, July 30. It is a pretty decent time for an overseas order. And I'm very happy with their packaging. Even though the box was a little beaten up (which is not their fault) everything was well protected with bubble wrap and those little white popcorn thingy (I suddenly don't know what they are called...head is hurting thinking about it). That site always has different kinds of sales too. So you might stop by a couple of times first before you go ahead and make a purchase.

Well if you guys go and check this site out...Happy Shopping ok!!  Everything purchased is out of my own pocket.  I'm not affiliated with this site.  Thought I had to mention this.  :)
